Your new role
Are you passionate about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education and cultural inclusion? This is a unique opportunity to join a values-driven education organisation as a Teaching and Learning Officer in Aboriginal Education, where you'll help shape culturally responsive learning environments and support student success across a diverse school network.
As part of the Teaching and Learning Team, you'll work alongside an Aboriginal Education Support Officer to support schools, educators, students, and families.
You will:

- Provide expert advice on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education, cultural responsiveness, and community protocols.
- Develop and implement culturally safe and responsive school initiatives.
- Support teachers in embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures into the curriculum.
- Coordinate major cultural events such as NAIDOC Week, Sorry Day, and Reconciliation Week.
- Build strong relationships with families, local organisations, and Elders.
- Mentor Aboriginal Education Workers and support professional development across schools.
- Contribute to system-wide improvement through tailored learning programs and strategic input.
What you'll need to succeed
This is an identified position open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Peoples under section 33B of the Discrimination Act 1991 (ACT).
You will bring:
- A Bachelor's degree in Education or equivalent, including relevant postgraduate qualifications.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in educational settings.
- Ability to travel across regions to collaborate with school leaders and staff.
- Current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) and Working with Children Check (WWCC) registrations.
- A valid driver's licence.
